The Mazda TAKERI concept car embodies Mazda’s “KODO – Soul of Motion” design theme in a midsize sedan with styling that reflects a sense of speed and excitement. TAKERI comes with the full-range of Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, including the next-generation SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine ― which will be introduced to Japan in the CX-5 ― mated with Mazda’s unique i-stop idling stop system. It also features a revolutionary regenerative braking system that uses a large-capacity capacitor to significantly improve driving performance and fuel economy. TAKERI is the perfect showcase of Mazda’s drive toward emotional design, driving pleasure and environmental performance, all wrapped up in a midsize sedan.
