SMC02 SIM-Drive Corp.
SIM-LEI SIM-Drive has developed the Advanced Development Model No. 1 for the period between January 19, 2010 and March 31, 2011. We named the model “SIM-LEI” as its nickname. LEI stands for the initial letters of “Leading Efficiency In-Wheel motor”.
The object of this project is to develop a prototype of the advanced development model aiming to start mass-production in 2013.This project collected 34 establishments and organizations who intend to enter in the electric vehicle business in the future.
The prototype achieved the target by over 300km of range per charge, which represents general urban traffic condition in Japan. The battery capacity to achieve this target is 24.9kWh as almost the same level as other electric vehicles presented in the market. Alternating Current electrical power consumption rate is 77Wh/km. This is equivalent to 70km/L of the fuel efficiency rate with gasoline as the energy consumption rate.

Eliica Eliica is a car built in 2004 that revolutionized the image of electric vehicles with its high acceleration and speed. It is capable of reaching an acceleration of 0.68G and a top speed of 370 km/h. The electric bus that was completed in 2011 incorporates the same technology used in the Eliica. There are 8 reduced tires each with in-wheel motor technology and an integrated platform structure that allows all the necessary parts, such as the batteries, to be stored underneath the floor. With this, a full flat floor from front to back and a spacious interior is made possible. Also the vibrations have been lessened compared to prior buses, which allow for a safer and pleasant ride for the passengers. Most importantly, we believe that, as a method of public transportation, this zero CO2 emission electric bus will play a big step in promoting a more environmentally friendly society.
