wp MIRAGE The Mirage is a new-age compact car for Mitsubishi Motors’ world markets, tailored to the economic needs of emerging nations and to the environmental needs of advanced nations. Development themes for the car were, “compact,” “affordability” and “high fuel efficiency.” The car’s main features include high-efficiency packaging that realizes the great maneuverability and easy driveability to be expected of a compact while also providing a comfortable interior space for five adults. As well as a painstaking reduction in weight throughout the car, a comprehensive program of detail improvements to the engine, transmission, brakes and tires has increased efficiencies and reduced rolling resistance. And with a slippery body shape which reduces air resistance and drag, the Japan market production model will be aiming to return class-topping fuel consumption.
wp Mitsubishi Concept PX-MiEV II The MITSUBISHI Concept PX-MiEV II is Mitsubishi Motors’ proposal for a plug-in hybrid model derived from a pure EV and which is slightly larger than the Japanese mid-size category and offers long-distance transport for more than four or five passengers. PX-MiEV II is an eco-SUV that delivers the environmental performance and quietness that define an EV, together with an extended cruising range and more comfortable motoring. The driveline uses a newly developed twin-motor 4WD drive system mated to Mitsubishi’s S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control) integrated vehicle-handling system that delivers world-class levels of traction and stability. While enhancing vehicle stability and safety the driveline also realizes vehicle behavior that faithfully reflects driver inputs. With the outstanding acceleration inherent to an electric motor-driven vehicle, PX-MiEV II delivers the highest levels of both environmental and road performance.
i-MiEV Mitsubishi Motors became the first manufacturer worldwide to bring a volume-production electric vehicle to market when it started sales of the i-MiEV next-generation EV in 2009. Reflecting the views and wishes of customers over two years of sales, the company made further improvements to the i-MiEV in July 2011. With the introduction of two trim levels, customers can now choose between a longer cruising range and a lower price. Other changes making a significant contribution to product value include the fitting of Active Stability Control (ASC) as standard, while the "MiEV Remote System" factory-fitted option gives the owner the convenience of using late-night and other off-peak electricity to charge the battery
MINICAB-MiEV Derived from the MINICAB VAN commercial mini vehicle, MINICAB-MiEV makes maximum use of the technologies and knowhow gained in the development and production of i-MiEV. Powered by the drive batteries and motor already proven in i-MiEV, MINICAB-MiEV offers a haulage capacity on a par with the engine-driven MINICAB together with a single-charge cruising range that is more than adequate for a commercial mini vehicle. And with a very reasonable and low price tag it realizes outstanding economy to the operator. Delivering the outstanding environmental performance expected of an EV, excellent dynamic performance and a quiet and comfortable ride, the MINICAB-MiEV takes the commercial mini vehicle to a new level.
RVR The RVR is a compact SUV that is the perfect size for, and meets the needs of, our new age. Within compact body dimensions it realizes outstanding versatility with excellent on- and off-road performance, excellent environmental performance that qualifies it for eco-car tax reductions, together with classy exterior and interior designs at a readily affordable price. From October 2011, RVR will be powered by a new 1.8-liter MIVEC engine which incorporates Mitsubishi Motors’ own Auto-stop & Go (AS&G) idle-stop technology—a first on a Japanese market SUV—that will realize significantly improved fuel economy and even better environmental performance
GALANT FORTIS The Galant Fortis (Lancer in some markets) was developed to a product concept of creating a global-standard sporty sedan with a superior combination of performance attributes in terms of safety, environmental compatibility, and comfort to deliver the sporty ride and road performance qualities for which Mitsubishi Motors is renowned. More specifically, it was developed with a distinctive design that conveys a sense of energy and stable road presence and an unmistakable Mitsubishi sedan identity. From October 2011, Galant Fortis will be powered by a new 1.8-liter MIVEC engine which incorporates Mitsubishi Motors’ own Auto-stop & Go (AS&G) idle-stop technology that will realize significantly improved fuel economy and other attributes of environmental performance.
DELICA D:5 The Delica D:5 minivan delivers monobox roominess and utility together with high levels of performance and stability in on- and off-road driving. Delica D:5 inherits and builds on the strengths of the Delica brand philosophy—a peoplemover that carries its occupants to their destination in safety and comfort under all driving conditions—and was developed to the theme of fusing “minivan people-friendliness” with “SUV tough.” The 2WD version will be powered by a new MIVEC engine with Mitsubishi Motors’ own Auto-stop & Go (AS&G) idle-stop technology that will realize significantly improved fuel economy and other attributes of environmental performance.
PAJERO The Pajero is an all-round SUV with outstanding all-terrain performance that delivers a comfortable ride over all surfaces. The strong and stiff monocoque body structure with built-in ladder frame is supported by all-round independent suspension, assuring outstanding grip, turn-in response and rear-end tracking while Mitsubishi Motors’ Super Select 4WD II four-wheel drive system delivers outstanding all-terrain traction and handling. Pajero is available with Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), which feeds optimal drive torque to each wheel to increase vehicle stability, and with a rear differential lock which assures torque is used to maximum effect in extracting the vehicle if it gets bogged down in sand or mud. 3.2-liter models are powered by a Mitsubishi clean diesel which features major improvements to the intake manifold and combustion chamber design, thereby reducing NOx emissions and meeting the Post New Long-Term Emission Standards.
OUTLANDER The Outlander uses a new-generation platform with improved impact safety and greater rigidity and a driveline that mates a low-consumption high-performance MIVEC engine to a CVT with 6-speed Sport Mode and an electronically-controlled 4WD system. In addition, the lower center of gravity stemming from the extensive use of aluminum panels realizes “breathtaking” performance that takes it to a new level compared with conventional SUVs. This full-feature on-road SUV also boasts a comprehensive user-friendly specification that includes a split flap-folding tailgate, which can be tailored for different weights and sizes of luggage as well as a compact 3rd row seat that increases total seating up to seven occupants if required.
DELICA D:2 The new Delica D:2 is the entry level model in the highly-versatile Delica minivan series and is characterized by roominess, utility and eco-friendliness. This small minivan offers a comprehensive convenience specification that includes sliding rear doors and multiple seating patterns in a compact body size and is powered by a 1.2-liter low-consumption engine.
