Telematics, a signature ITS system, is turning cars into mobile information systems through the Internet integration, terminal device diversity, and open content shifts of recent years. Hopes are high that this evolutionary development will change the face of our day to day lives and our car lives. During this conference, attendees will hear about the latest developments in a new form of telematics from Europe and America, developing on a global scale, and about cutting edge telematics elemental technologies from Japan. Leaders in regions taking groundbreaking approaches to smart communities and next generation automotive societies, such as California (USA), Germany (Europe), and Singapore (Southeast Asia) have been invited to present the measures being taken in their home regions, as well as case studies. From Japan, nonfiction writer Kazuma Yamane will present keynote address, and private sector companies involved in smart communities and mobility will introduce cutting edge technologies and the efforts being taken within Japan. The conference will serve as a source of a wide range of information, from a global perspective, regarding “what kind of safe, secure future society next generation automobiles will create”.
